Inflammatory bowel disease
One emphasis of our practice is managing patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). In addition to the ultrasound scans (including high resolution ultrasounds) and endoscopic procedures which are required for diagnosis, all of the therapeutic methods currently approved for these diseases are in use at our clinic. This particularly includes intravenous infusion of TNF antibodies (such as Remicade®) and other innovative treatments.
Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease have access to
personal, individual health caregivers. In the event that a patient’s condition worsens, he/she may contact our clinic even outside regular office hours. Our patients may also order repeat prescriptions by e-mail. Problem cases are handled through our close links with the Frankfurt University Hospital. Liver diseases
All examination methods for diagnosing, and methods for treating liver diseases are available. In addition to conventional laboratory and ultrasound methods, we perform duplex sonographic scans of the hepatic blood vessels, genetic tests to exclude hereditary diseases, paracentesis in the treatment of dropsy (ascites), and diagnostic biopsies for histological liver disease diagnosis.
Our treatment of chronic hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis C strictly follows the guidelines set by the DGVS society (
